Biography
Isabella Elizabeth Lowrie was born in 1869 at Galashiels, Selkirkshire, Scotland. She was a daughter of John Lowrie, a shepherd, wife Christina Anderson.[1] She was a younger sister of the noted Australian agricultural educationist, William Lowrie.

In April 1898 she married Newton Moore at Bunbury, Western Australia.[2] Newton later became Mayor of Bunbury and Premier of Western Australia. In 1911 he was appointed Agent-General for Western Australia in London, whereupon they moved to London, England. In 1910 Newton had been created Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (KCMG), entitling Isabella as Lady Moore. They remained in England as Newton served during the First World War as Major General commanding the Australian Imperial Forces in Britain and then built a career as a member of the House of Commons.

She passed away, aged 82 years, in 1956 at Marylebone, Middlesex.[3]
