Her remains were later removed to Easebourne, Sussex.1

Life Sketch

Jane Radcliffe was the daughter of Robert Radcliffe, 1st Earl of Sussex, and his second wife, Margaret Stanley, daughter of Thomas Stanley, 2nd Earl of Derby.

Jane Radcliffe married Anthony Browne, 1st Viscount Montagu, the oldest son of Sir Anthony Browne and his first wife, Alice Gage. Anthony Browne was not Viscount Montagu at the time of their marriage, therefore, Jane Radcliffe Browne was never Viscountess Montague as she died before her husband attained his title. Unfortunately, Jane died in childbed, giving birth to twins born 22 July 1552 at Cowdray House.
