Joan Yorke

Biography

Joan, dau. of Nicholas Mauleverer, was born in 1432.

Joan Mauleverer married #1 John Dalton, #2 John Whitfield, Mayor of Hull # 3 Sir Richard Yorke.

Richard married Joan, the widow of both John Dalton and John Whitfield. They had at least three sons. Richard also had two natural sons. He was knighted by Henry VII in 1487 and served as Mayor of York, Ambassador to France, and a Member of Parliament.
