LaMar Wells Lindsay passed away January 6, 1999, in Salt Lake City.

He was born April 17, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Emerson Junius and Mary E. Wells Lindsay. He married Janet Carlson, later divorced. He married Helen Sanford in Idaho Falls, ID.LaMar was educated at the University of Utah and received a Bachelors degree in psychology and a graduate degree in anthropology. He served with the US Navy on the USS Maddox. He was a devoted U of U fan. He was an Elder in the LDS Church. He loved classical music, jazz, and played piano. He loved his work as an archaeologist for the State of Utah and surveyor for BLM. He enjoyed the out of doors. He was an avid tennis player and cherished his Scottish heritage.

Survived by special friend, companion, and caregiver, Helen; children, Scott (Laura), Chet (Vi), Dane (Elizabeth), Jason (Tawnia), Marti Ann (Tim) Ericksen; 11 grandchildren; sister and brothers, Carol R., Emerson Jay (Marilyn), Robert C., Dale R. and , Mark (Suzanne). Preceded in death by grandson, Joshua.

Family members would like to give thanks and acknowledge care given by the staff at Federal Heights Rehab Center and University of Utah Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 11, 1999, 11 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road..
