Lane, 92, passed away peacefully with family at his side April 9, 2010, at Kennewick General Hospital in Kennewick, Washington.

He was born near Milton, Oregon, on October 17, 1917, to Anthony and Grace Hill. He farmed at Touchet and moved to Eltopia, WA, to farm in 1959. He attended Washington State University. He was a WWII Veteran, U.S. Navy 8-1942 to 12-1945 with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Lane enjoyed camping with family, playing cards with grandkids. Fascinated with all types of engine repair as well as inventing plus mechanical engineering. He was honest, hardworking, loving, caring and thoughtful of others.

He was preceded in death by his Wife of 58 yrs, Viola Hill. Sister, Iris Creitin, and Brother, Brant Hill.

He is survived by son, Dave (and Mary) Hill of Pasco, WA; and daughters, Janice (and Gary) Newton, New Mexico; Karen and (Mark) Page of Stockton, CA; and 3 grandchildren, D'Ann, Brandon and Kayla.

Viewing will be Tuesday 4/13/2010 from 10-12:30 at Columbia Memorial Chapel, Pasco, WA.

There will be a Graveside service Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Columbia Memorial Gardens, Pasco, WA.

Anacortes Wedding News is Announced

TOUCHET -- Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Viola Jenson and Lane Hill, son of Mr and Mrs A.W. Hill of Touchet, the vows having been exchanged at a service Sunday at Anacortes.

Mrs Hill is a graduate of W.S.C. where their romance began.

They were married in the Lutheran church of the coast city.

A.W. Hill is ill in a Walla Walla hospital and Mrs E.S. Hill of Arizona, his mother, is here for a visit.
