Larkin Phillips Luck

CATHARINE LUCK whose maiden name was Bright was born in Kentucky Feb 20 1808. She was raised there and in 1825 married Larkin Luck. He was born in Virginia July 17 1801. They came to Dubuque in 1834 and were among the early settlers here. He was a wagon maker by trade and made the first wagon ever made in Dubuque. He afterward engaged in mercantile business. He died July 27 1855. They had eleven children, five of whom are living. Eliza, Kittie, Greenbury, George, and John. Mrs Luck lives with her son on Alta Vista Street.
