About Lars Peterson (udv til Utah 1865)
Lars Peterson has been postmaster in Huntsville for 30 years, also engaging in farming and basket weaving, and devoted his spare time to astronomy.
Mr. Peterson was born in Denmark on February 27, 1837, and before leaving that country served a three and a half-year mission for the L.D.S. church. He served also during the Danish-German war.
Arriving in Ogden in 1865, after driving an oxcart across the plains, he was at first engaged as a cloth weaver by the McKay family. He went to Huntsville in 1866 and had resided there since. In the L.D.S. church he held the office of high priest.
He had seven children.
