Laura Blanche “Elaine” Cavicchi It is with sorrowful hearts that the family of Elaine announces her passing on Sunday August 30. Born on May 18, 1931, she was the daughter of the late James and Elmore Slaughenwhite. For many years Elaine was an active member of St. James Anglican Church, Boutiliers Point, serving as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, organist and ACW member and treasurer. She also served as secretary of the Upper Tantallon School Trustees. Elaine’s passions were knitting and embroidery. Elaine is survived by her loving husband Willard of sixty-six years; son, Willard (Maryjean), Boutilier’s Point; Kirk (Debby), Upper Tantallon; Grant (Beverley), Upper Tantallon; Craig (Melissa), Upper Tantallon; daughter Heather, Upper Tantallon. Grammy will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was predeceased by five brothers. Many thanks to the wonderful staff and caregivers at Ocean View Continuing Care Center and family physician Dr. Krista Thompson. Special thanks to Wendy Keeping, a frequent visitor. The family will receive visitors 6-9 pm Tuesday, September 1st in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Wednesday, September 2 in St. James Anglican Church, Boutiliers Point. Rev. Brieanna Andrews officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.
