Chaparro Family Crest and Name History

Where did the Spanish Chaparro family come from? When did the Chaparro family first arrive in the United States? Where did the various branches of the family go? What is the history of the family name?

.

First found in Andalusia.

Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Guillen Chaparro, who arrived in Nueva Granada (presently Colombia) in 1582; Julio Chaparro, who was listed on a passenger list, arriving in San Francisco in 1852; Ignacio Chapa, who is on record in Texas in 1835.

Esa pugna tan sonada

que hubo entre aquellos Oidores

y Jueces Visitadores

tuvo a Santafé agitada;

la calma fue asegurada

y todo volvió a su estado

cuando un varón muy calmado,

el doctor Guillen Chaparro,

firme como un buen navarro,

brilló cual buen magistrado.

Many of the symbols adopted into armory have been used since the time of the ancient Egyptians, but heraldry itself did not begin until the 11th century. In continental Europe, the most ancient recorded family crest was discovered upon the monumental effigy of a Count of Wasserburg in the church of St. Emeran, at Ratisobon, Germany..
