Services Held for L.R. Trout, County Native -- Services for L. Roy Trout, 75, a native of Jasper County, Iowa and former cashier and vice president of the West Burlington Savings Bank, were held Monday at Elliott-Lunning Chapel in Burlington, Iowa. The Rev. Paul Pennington officiated and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Burlington, Iowa.
Mr. Trout died Friday in Fort Worth, Texas after an extended illness. He had retired from the Burlington bank in 1965 due to ill health. Born July 16, 1895 in Reasnor, Iowa the son of Benjamin & Louisa Hammer Trout, he started his banking career in Baxter in 1915. While a resident of Baxter, he was a member of the Baxter Masonic Lodge, holding several offices.
Surviving are two sons: Paul of San Carlos, California; Roy Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter Mrs. Dorothy Spear of Des Moines, Iowa; 2 sister: Mrs. Dora Tool and Mrs. Lulu Butin, both of Prairie City, Iowa; brothers-in-law and sister-in-laws: Mr. & Mrs. M.G. Addicks and Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth W. Young all of Newton, Iowa.
