Leah Brina Marovich Meyerson PoKempner (Scheinker)

Family of Maier and Chai PaKempner and 3 of their 6 children.

Maier (Vintsisker- possibly the original last name later translated to

PaKempner) and Chai PaKempner had 6 children. This letter is being

prepared for the descendents of 3 of his children all who Marlene

Dobrin is currently in contact with via email (mostly due to

Jewishgen). We may all have questions for one another so I am putting

this letter out to you as an introduction to us all.

The 6 children were

1. Chaikel 2. Yitzhak 3. Joseph 4. Boruch 5. Hannah and 6. Riva. The 3

children whose descendents are involved are Yitzhak, Joseph and I

presume Hannah (Grodno) Gordon.

Child #2 Yitzhak Iche Zvi Nafthali Hirsch PoKempner married Leah Brina

Scheinker (Marovich- Meyerson- both names are the same meaning Meyer's

son) PoKempner and are the great grandparents of Marlene Dobrin and

Chaim Herzog (president and statesman of Israel).

Stella Baldev has been an invaluable source

regarding the Meyerson and Fleischman families. It is through Stella

and her extensive family tree that I learned that Leah Brina's grandson

Morris Meyerson married Golda Meir (prime minister and stateswoman of

Israel). **

husband (my great great grandfather) was Moische Shmuel

Fleischman."****

Child #3 Joseph Yussel PaKempner married Hannah Abelski PaKempner.

Their first child was the mother of Judy Ishlon Shorr Siegal

. Her family historian is her cousin Pat Manning

on the Abelski-Ress side. Joseph and Hannah's

9th child were parents to Yosie Zafrir . Joseph and

Hannah's 10th child were parents to Aviva Kempner the film producer and

director of Jewish related content, Partisans of Vilna, The Life and

Times of Hank Greenberg and a film of her mother's summer in the

Catskills.

Child #5 of Maier and Chai PaKempner was Hannah PoKempner (Grodno)

Gordon.
