Ledora (Crabtree) Burton

Lee Dora or Ledora Crabtree was born on 17 March 1872 in Grayson County, Texas. She married Bedford F. Burton on 15 December 1886 in Navarro County, Texas. She died 11 November 1888 in Grayson County, Texas.

Born to William Carroll Crabtree and Paralee (Boyd) Crabtree in Grayson County, Texas on 17 Marcy 1872. Casinda Crabtree, single, age 29 in 1870 census and sister to William Carroll Crabtree helped with this infant's care as Paralee was not very well. "Cassy" called her "Dury-Dury-Dorig" much to Belle's (now age four years) dislike, as Belle had always been "the darling" of a big family of older boys. Dora as a teenage girl had a plump figure. She was rather pretty with auburn hair and brown eyes. She like to wear bangs, then in fashion. She married before Belle, her senior by three years. Dora and her husband Bedford Burton had one child who died at birth as did Dora. Dr. Knox of Frost, Texas was in attendance; it was a breech birth. Dora was more like her mother's people, the Boyds. Being the baby, she spent much time with her mother Paralee, visiting her mother's people especially when they were ill and needed a nurse. Paralee would nurse them.
