The 1880 census places the immigrant German William Coppersmith family in Tuledad precinct of Lassen. His house may have been along modern Tuledad Road (modern state road 506) = Lassen County
California
41.031367, -120.086465 , but the Paiute camp site was probably on the northern downslope of Coppersmith Hills in Surprise Valley a good bit north of William Coppersmith's dwelling. The Coppersmiths left these hills for Reno by 1900.
