About Lemuel Vincent Longfellow
They moved to Muscatine County, Iowa, where they are found on 1860 & 1870 census. In 1880 they moved to Taylor Co, Iowa where Lemuel died March 21, 1900. Mary died November 14, 1914 in a St Louis, Missouri sanitarium. Both are buried in Bowers Cemetery, near Bedford, Taylor County, Iowa.
Sufferers from Tuberculosis were commonly cared for in sanitariums, however her reason for being in one is unknown or why one in St Louis.
Longfellow, SONS of M&, funeral services in memory of the two sons recently deceased of Clayton twp will be held next Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Bowers school house. BA 06 Nov 1879
