Lena Vern Fitch

ORRVILLE - Lena Vern Gingerich, age 84, of Orrville, died Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, following a period of declining health.

Lena was born on April 29, 1935, in Centerville, Ohio, to the late John and Minnie (Durbin) Fitch and married Andrew M. Gingerich on January 23, 1954, in Minerva. Andrew died on May 7, 2018.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed farming with her husband on the Gingerich Family Dairy Farm. Lena cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are five children, Karen Long of Orrville, Judy Hines of Maysville, KY, Joan (Rick) Hoff of Smithville, Wayne (Teresa) Gingerich of Winchester, and Donna (Tim) Daulton of West Union; 12 grandchildren, Jay Long, Shawn Heater of Wooster, Jesse Heater of Wooster, Lena Datko, Gwen Datko, Christopher Hoff, Alicia Hoff, Brittany Gingerich, Brandon Gingerich, Derrick Daulton, Seth Daulton, and Easton Daulton, and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Fitch; and sisters, Goldie McMasters and Mildred Curyk.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 19, 2019, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, with Celebrant Kevin O’Brien officiating. Burial will take place at Salem Mennonite Cemetery in Dalton.

Friends may call on Friday at the funeral home, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service.
