According to his biography written by his brother in the book "A History of the Margaretten Family [1941 English edition Page 99]" both wived were foster daughters of his uncle (his mother's brother) Meir Schlesinger. [Meir Schlesinger lived in Szarvas and was childless.] And maybe that's why the H&M authors thought that his wife's last name was Schlesinger.
