Lenora Freida Kennemer

Lenora Freida Kennemer of New Braunfels went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010 at 4:15 a.m. at the age of 53. She was a devoted Christian, who spent many hours a day studying the Bible and praying. One of her many favorite verses was John 3:16, which says, “God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” She loved to share the gospel, and rarely neglected the opportunity to witness for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, wherever she went. She believed that at death, the physical body returns to dust, and the soul of the believer is welcomed into heaven.

She was born on Dec. 15, 1956 in Manheim, Germany, to Oliver Keene and Ursula Kossaeth. She is survived in death by her loving husband and best friend of 33 years, Darrel Gene Kennemer. They were married on Dec. 3, 1976 and is survived by her three children: Melissa Rene Pelata and husband, David; son Chad Kennemer and wife, Sherree and daughter Tiffany Lorriane Kennemer, all of New Braunfels. She is also survived by two beautiful granddaughters, Mackenzie Leanne Pelata and Millie Lagree Kennemer and one granddaughter Kapree Frieda Kennemer to be born Feb. 5, 2010, stepfather Marvin Kossaeth, one brother Edwin Keene and wife Karen, several step-sisters and brothers. Also one sister-in-law Karen Kennemer and brother-in-law Stephen Kennemer. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

We would like for our friends and family to join us in celebrating her life with a memorial to begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to K-Love Radio Station, KLRN, Oakwood Baptist Church, Cancer Care Center or a charity of your choice.
