About Leo Roy Kelso
Leo Roy Kelso, 79, a former Potlatch Corp. worker, died Wednesday July 3, 1991 of pulmonary emboli at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at Lewiston.
He was born on July 6, 1911, to Roy Kelso and Agnes Wilhemina Nelson Kelso in W inchester.
As a child he moved to Montana and then to Walla Walla, where he attended high school.
He moved to Winchester in 1930. He also worked for Craig Mountain Lumber Co. there, where he also graded the railroad grade for the track at Winchester and Cottonwood Butte with a horse-drawn grader.
He moved to Lewiston in 1965 and worked for Potlatch Corp. until he retired in 1976.
He married Hilma Eggart on Nov. 2, 1935, in Lewiston.
He was a member of the Baptist Church at Walla Walla. He enjoyed horses, gardening and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Marlene Jungert of Cottonwood and Donna Daves of Post Falls; a son, Marvin Kelso of Prineville, Ore.; two brothers, Leonard Kelso and Rodell Kelso, both of Lewiston; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hronen, the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center chaplain, officiating. Burial will be at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens.
