Leo Vossen, 93, of Watkins Aug. 26, 1915 - Dec. 5, 2008
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins for Leo Vossen, 93 of Watkins who died Friday at the Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud. Burial will be at the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Watkins. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Senior Citizens will pray the rosary at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 6:00 p.m.
Leo Vossen was born on August 26, 1915 in Watkins, MN. He was the son of John and Katherine (Statz) Vossen. On May 28, 1946, he was united in marriage to Lucile Schmitz at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas. They farmed West of Watkins until their retirement in 1975 when they moved into the city of Watkins. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins and was active with the Catholic Order of Foresters. Leo was also a member of the Watkins Senior Citizens and was a volunteer driver for the organization.
Leo is survived by his children and their spouses, Karen and Nick Jenniges of Wanda, MN, Steve and Debra Vossen of Kimball, MN; 5 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brothers and sister and their spouses, Ben and Theresa Vossen of St. Cloud, Elmer and Julianna Vossen of Cold Spring, Margaret Vincent of White Bear Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucile; grandson, Jeremy Ruprecht and great Grand-daughter, McKenzie Norton; brothers, Frank, Eugene, Richard, and Herman Vossen.
