About Leo Waldemar Lofstrom
Leo Waldemar Lofstrom was born at Strandquist, Minnesota, U.S.A. April 4, 1899. He came to Canada with his parents who settled in the Beatty District in 1903. He was baptised in Strandquist, Minnesota and confirmed in the sion Lutheran Church at Kinistino October 5, 1913. He received his education at Beatty and after leaving school he helped his father on the farm. He was united in marriage with Edith Alice Nordvald (Nordin) July 21, 1927 in Melfort, Sask. and the couple took up residence on the farm at Kinistino. They moved to the Snowden District in March of 1931 where they proved up on a homestead. He retired to Choiceland in 1961 where he was residing at the time of his death.
He was predeceased by two sons: Evert and George; one sister; three brothers and two grandsons: Elwood in 1982 and Karl in 1984.
He leaves to treasure his memory his loving wife Edith; step son Donald (Vera) Nordin of Qualicum Beach, B.C., Aldon (Mary) Lofstrom of Choiceland, Alice (Jack) Dzuz of Goodsoil, Sask. Reuben (Janet) of Choiceland, Robert of Melfort; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister and two brothers.
