"Leon's mum was recorded entering the hospital on camera well before Leon was picked up by James from school. She was in the middle of a pregnancy and started bleeding so she went to hospital and had to stay longer than thought so she rang her husband of 3 weeks and partner of 4yrs James to pick Leon up from school. She entered and remained in the hospital from 11.15pm until Leon arrived in the ambulance. Emere Jayet loved her son beyond life and for people to keep listening to lies and passing it on doesn't help the situation. Leon was well loved and adored by his mum and siblings. He had autism and taught himself how to read to the amazement of his doting mother he loved letters,numbers and painting. His favorite color was green and he knew he was safe with his mum that he would quite literally fall asleep anywhere and everywhere, halfway off a chair, in a kitchen draw with a bag of bread he had just acquired that he had started to munch on, outside on the lawn and the garden path he would just stop and sleep when he was tired. He passed away May 28th 2015 after donating his organs and saving 3 peoples lives and he was buried on the 4th of June 2015. His brain however was reunited and buried in a separate box placed on top of his coffin 1 year later. The fact that the man who murdered a 5yr old had HIS family rewarded with custody of his and Emere's daughter.... after he murdered a child his family was given a child to care for even when they're all in denial about the fact that James beat Leon to death. Now the murderer is viewed as the victim and the mum that lost her beautiful baby boy, her sidekick, her bestfriend even took the autopsy report to an independent pathologist because she needed to know if it was James or not and she found out the sad truth due to Leons injuries and she walked out that pathologist office and blocked James and essentially left him and he spent the next 10 days plotting and planning his funeral while getting high on meth like he had been doing in secret for only god knows how long because Emere had no idea as she was pregnant and violently ill with hyperemesis. Then he took the cowards way out without even giving Emere the truth about what happened. I was in court for Leon's inquest and so many lies were pushed forward that the judge shut them down and also told media to stop printing false articles with words that have never been uttered in court. The police and Oranga Tamariki will never admit they fumbled the case from the get go as they knew Emere had just left the kids dad who was violent and that she had 2 vulnerable non verbal children and they also knew of James' colorful past of drug use and family violence yet did they EVER try and give Emere any type of warning as to the danger she had in her home.... nope they just simply threw petrol on the proverbial fire and waited for the explosion then started pointing fingers at everyone except themselves. This is why the coroner put a gag order on James' last emails he sent to Emere as they clearly show that she was in the dark the whole time because what do narcissists do...they lie and lie and lie and try push the blame and then they play the victim card and somehow the murderer is the one being picked on and lied about. Police, child protection staff and medical authorities failed to share information and identify risks in the case of a boy beaten so badly he suffered injuries akin to a car crash, an inquest found. Five-year-old Leon Jayet-Cole died in Christchurch Hospital on May 28, 2015 from severe head injuries deliberately inflicted when he was home in the sole care of his mother’s boyfriend James Roberts. Leon’s stepfather beat him to the point that he suffered a severe head injury, and his mother did not seek medical care for him when she saw he had been hurt. Leon survived on life support in the hospital for two days before he died. His organs were transplanted and have saved the lives of five people. Leon’s stepfather has been charged with murder and his mother for failing to get medical treatment for him. Before Leon’s stepfather could be tried, he committed suicide.
