Leon Snyman (1966 - 2014)

Brief overview:

Leon (48), and his wife Elize (50), were attacked on their smallholding in Rietfontein, Hartbeesfontein, on 31st December 2014. Leon was shot dead in his bed, and his wife Elize was shot in the mouth, the 9mm bullet lodging in her neck. The gunmen also shot at another family member but missed.

One of the armed attackers demanded that Elize hand over her handbag and cellphone. It was when Leon was trying to get up that the gunman shot him.

Elize was taken to the George Mukhari Hospital in Ga-Rankuwa.
