Leonard J. "Lefty" Loeffler, 88, was born June 12, 1922, in Pueblo, and passed away at 11:11 a.m., May 14, 2011, in Denver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard "Len" and Erma Loeffler; and by his daughter, Karen Allen. Survived by children, Karol (Nick Lundy) Loeffler, Linda Loeffler; and son-in-law Larry Hays and L.J. Loeffler III. Also survived by grandson, Bill (Teresa) Allen; sister, Cecelia Dennerline; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends, and his very special friend, his beloved dog, Mitzi. Lefty was a retired ironworker and was a life member of Ironworkers local 750. He was noted for his expertise in the field of structural iron. Lefty graduated from Central High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Little Rock. He was a member of the USS Little Rock Association and was an original plank owner. Cremation, with a memorial service, 2 p.m. Tuesday, TG McCarthy Funeral Home. There will be a reception following the service at Klamm's Shell Bar and Restaurant, 424 W.
