About Leonhardt Hoffmann
A farmer, Leonhardt Hoffmann was born in March of 1836 in Hemsbach, Bavaria, Germany, the son of Johann Adam Hoffmann and Anna Maria Bruckner Hoffmann. Leonard was one of five children. He met his future wife, Maria Ann Schneider Hoffmann, on board ship to America, and they were married April 23, 1860. They had eight children: Apollonia Hoffmann Simon, Anna Maria Hoffmann Franz, Louis Hoffmann, George Hoffmann, John Hoffmann, Henry Hoffmann, Theresa Hoffmann, and Joseph Hoffmann. Leonhardt Hoffmann died of chronic nephritis March 11, 1916, at age 80, in Campbell County, Kentucky. He is buried in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Wilder, Campbell County.
