Leonie Chantler (1958 - 2005)
Brief overview:
Leonie (47), who farmed alone on a smallholding plot in Tweedracht, east of Pretoria, was raped and murdered on 28th December 2005. Her half naked body was found in a bush, with a white rope tied around her neck, and tied to a tree, on the Bronkhorstspruit Road. She had been strangled to death, and her belongings were stolen.
Lucky Kaiser (27), and a friend of his, had gone to her smallholding and asked for a lift. Known for her kindness, she agreed. While driving along the Bronkhorstspruit Road they allegedly overpowered and raped her.
Chantler's car was found later that day abandoned next to the road, with some of her belongings found close-by. Her body was found two days later in a bush, 15km from where her car was found.

- On 24th April 2007, Kaiser appeared in court. The case was postponed to September 7th 2007.
