About Leonor B. Rivera-Kipping
Leonor Rivera was a cousin and the object of affection of the Philippine national hero, Jose Rizal. She is said to have been the inspiration for the iconic character "Maria Clara" in the novel "Noli Me Tangere". More here: http://bit.ly/x03WJK.
Leonor died after childbirth. She and her baby daughter Caroline, who had died a few hours after she was born, were buried at the Paco Catholic Cemetery in Manila.
