Brief overview:

Lesley (32), a farmer who lived alone in the Umkomaas area, was killed when he went to assist a neighbour who was being attacked and robbed, on 23rd October 2023 just after 05h00. He was assaulted and stabbed, the perpetrators left him for dead. Lesley reportedly managed to run to another neighbour's home for assistance, after which he was rushed to hospital, but sadly died en route.

Provincial police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala said a group of suspects forced open the door and entered the woman's home. "At gunpoint, the suspects demanded cash and cellphones. The suspects took cellphones, a computer, and cash," Gwala said.

"My neighbor, Lesley Stark was killed in farm murder this morning. It is in the Umkomaas district, next to the Umkomaas river. He rushed to the aid of a neighbor who had been attacked by six black men on her farm. The men pinned him down and attacked him with knives and sticks. He managed to get free and stumbled 300m away to the nearest neighbors for help. The neighbor loaded him into his van for medical help. However, Lesley succumbed to his injuries before they could reach the clinic. Lesley's mother and two brothers live in England. He farmed alone on the farm."
