About Leslie Otto Kubin
Leslie Otto Kubin, 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in Ennis, Texas. Burial will be at St. Josephs Cemetery.
Leslie was born in Ennis, Texas, on August 14, 1930, to the late Frank and Bessie (Vrla) Kubin. He grew up in the Creechville Community and attended Pearidge Schools. On September 20, 1958, he married Mary Ann Koubek and they made their home in the Creechville Community. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He worked for Avenue Fuel Distributor for over 38 years and worked on the family farm all of his life. He was a member of the St John Nepomucene Catholic Church and VFW Post of Ennis. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He loved to dance, especially to his beloved Polka music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Kubin; brothers, Frank and Joe Kubin; and sisters, Bessie Vavra and Mildred Cepica.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Jean Macalik and her husband, Gorden, and Judy Gail Taylor; grandchildren: Julie Crawford, Karen Macalik, and Justin Taylor; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Elizabeth Crawford; brother, Willie Kubin; sister, Angeline Slovacek; along with many extended family members and friends.
