Letitia Jannette Bee Stevens

On this website, Letitia Jeannette Bee was listed simply as Jannette Bee, the daughter of Richard John Moxey Bee and Georginia McKechnie. She was born January 26, 1862, in Richmond, Cache, Utah. Shortly after that, the family moved to Bloomington, Bear Lake, Idaho. She married James Roswell Stevens on January 6, 1879, in Bloomington, Bear Lake, Idaho. Their first daughter, Georginia Rebecca, named for both of her grandmothers, was born April 21, 1880, and then James Roswell Stevens, Jr., was born November 27, 1881, and their younger sister, Letitia Jannette, was born March 15, 1883, and was named after her mother. In September of 1883, James, Jannette and their three small children started for Arizona with members of the Welker family and other citizens of Bloomington. Georginia was 3 years old, James, 2, and baby Letitia Jannette was just eight months old. Sadly, Letitia Jannette passed away in Safford, Arizona, in 1888 and was buried there.

Within a year or so after her death, her husband, James Roswell Stevens, married Sarah Alsea Barney and by 1900 the family had moved to Clarks Fork, Carbon County, Montana, and James, was 43, Sarah, 37, and they had several children of their own by then, including: Alexander, 9, Laura, 6, Edson, 3, and Agnes, 9 months old. Also living in their home was Alexander Roswell Stevens, 66, James' father. By 1910, James and Sarah had two more children, Albert, and Rex. Later they moved to Washington state and were living there in the 1930 census. Sarah passed away in December of 1936, and James passed away at the age of 89 on December 19, 1945 in Washington state. Their oldest son, Alexander, born in 1890 in Safford, Arizona, passed away at the age of 82 on December 30, 1972 in Eugene, Oregon.
