MEMORIAL PHOTOS 1 FLOWERS 0 Funeral services for Leuvenia "Mae" Magouirk, age, 79, of Oakwood, Texas are set for 2 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Keechi, Texas. Rev. Richard Dahlgren will officiate the service. Interment will be in the Keechi Cemetery in Keechi, Texas. Walters Buffalo Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation hours will be 1 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, with the family present from 4 pm until 7 pm, at the funeral home.

Leuvenia Mae Magouirk was born in Freestone County on November 30, 1932 to Eddie Phillip and Lillie (Ursey) Pennington. She was born and raised in Oakwood, and was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Oakwood, Texas. She taught Sunday School as long as she could. She and her husband attended all the singings in the local churches. They always dressed in red when they went to singings. She loved to read, write poetry, and take photography classes. She received her G.E. D. in 1975, the same year as her daughter got hers from high school. She was always trying to better her education. She also received her concealed hand gun license. Mae always had something to give to people even if it was just a kind word. She was also a Florist and owned Mae's Florist in Oakwood for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Jackson "W. Jay" Magouirk; two brothers, Edward Pennington & Randolph Sinclair, and a sister, Minnie Teer. Mrs. Magouirk passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 in Crockett, Texas.

Survivors include two sons, Jim Magouirk and wife, Esther of Riverside, Texas and Fred Magouirk and wife, Sandra of Athens, Texas; one daughter, Suzanne Killion of Farmington Arkansas; six grandchildren, Leslie Marie Magouirk of Riverside, Texas, Mary Melissa Magouirk of Huntsville, Texas, Marion Killion of Mississippi, Krystal Killion of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Fredrick Magouirk of Athens, Texas, and Jailyeen Caddell of Athens, Texas; three great grandchildren, Jamie Dawn Magouirk, LeAnn Bohannan and Darius Bohannan.
