LEVI CRATER, 82, TAKEN BY DEATH
Dies at Home of Daughter North of City - Burial to Be Made Here
Levi Crater, 82, died at 6 o'clock last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Maley, north of this city. Mr. Crater was well known in the community, having lived at Edinburgh and worked for the Public Service Company there for many years.
For several years he had made his home with another daughter, Mrs. Bernina Lortz at Franklin, but came to live with Mrs. Maley in January.
Mr. Crater was born in Ohio and moved to northern Indiana when he was about 8 years old.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed pending word from a son, Quincy, who is at present in Texas. Burial will be made in Garland Brook cemetery.
Mr. Crater is survived by three children, Mrs. Maley, Mrs. Lortz, now of Anderson, and Quincy Crater, who resides in Pittsburgh, Penn.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Harold M. Crater whose husband died April 20 at Camp Shelby, Miss., and eleven grandchildren, Mildred, Jacob, and Joseph Maley, Conder Lortz, and Harold E. Crater, Jr., all of Columbus, Esther and Jeannette Lortz of Anderson, Sergt. Lee and Sergt. John Lortz, both of Camp Shelby, and Quincy Monroe Crater and Thomas Neil Crater, both of Pittsburgh.
