◦ Levi Nutter enlisted in the Confederate Army on May 1 1862 in Calhoun County, serving in Co A, 3rd Virginia State Line (Moccasin Rangers), although post-war rosters show his enlistment as Dec 6 1862. Muster rolls show him in Co A, 19th Virginia Cavalry, as of Feb 28 1863. Further enlistment in Williamsburg, Greenbrier Co, WV on Mar 1 1863, but not stated if present or absent on muster-in-roll dated March 1863. The Census of 1860 shows him as a farmer, age 35, in Calhoun Co, (W)VA. The Census of 1880 shows him as a farmer, age 55, in Lee District of Calhoun Co, WV. [2]
