Levi Lee Schmucker

GOSHEN — Levi Lee Schmucker, 73, died at 6:20 a.m. Sunday at his residence after a nine-year battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 19, 1939, in Goshen, to Levi D. and Susie (Hershberger) Schmucker. On June 19, 1958, in Goshen, he married Viola Miller. She survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are four daughters, Betty (LeRoy) Troyer, Barb (Levi) Petersheim, Bertha (John) Stoltzfus and Ruby (Buddy) Beiler, all of Goshen; two sons, Wayne (Sharon) Schmucker of Nappanee and God’s special son, Marvin Schmucker, at home; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; four brothers, Ivan (Laura) Schmucker of Kingston, Wis, Vernon (Edna) Schmucker, Lloyd Schmucker, both of Goshen, and Rudy (Mary) Schmucker of West Union, Ohio; a sister, Ida Mae Schmucker of Goshen; and a sister-in-law, Ida Schmucker of Shipshewana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, LeRoy and Freeman Schmucker.

Lee worked at Jayco, Middlebury, for 27 years and he was known for having many friends. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today and all day Tuesday at the family’s residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, also at the family’s residence. Services will be conducted by home ministers. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen.
