1781, 26 January: Was master of the ship "Nancy" from Cape Ann, Massachusetts to Guadeloupe.
1781, April: Sailed on the "Essex" on its last voyage. Sailed to England and Ireland to capture English ships. They took one ship, then were captured by the British ship "Queen Charlotte" on the east coast of Ireland on June 4.
The sailors were put in irons and transported to Portsmouth, England, and charged with treason. Captured in the privateer "Essex." Carried as a prisoner to England. On 1781, 24 Jul: he as committed to isolation with small pox.
