At the age of 23 Benjamin was elected a surveyor, and thereafter during a public life of unusual activity his services in that capacity were in constant requistion.

On 8 Jul 1676 when Benjamin was 24, he married Mary [Foote] in Wethersfield, CT. Born ca 1652, Mary died on 30 Oct 1712.

"Benjamin and Mary had Prudence, b. 2 Jul 1678, and two other ch. but no more is kn.27"


  1. Torrey identified the 2nd husband of Sarah Buck b 1669, widow of Samuel Deming (1646-1706). Other researchers have that 2nd husband as Capt. Jonathan Churchill
