About Lieut. John Heald of Concord

Lt John Heald - was born on 19 Sep 1666 in Concord, Mass. and died on 25 Nov 1721 in Concord, Mass. and was buried in Old Hill Cmty . He was the son of John Heald and Sarah Dean.

Lt John married Mary Chandler on 18 Dec 1690 in Concord, Mass.. Mary was born on 7 Jan 1671 in Concord, Mass.. She died on 14 Aug 1759 in Concord, Mass. and was buried in Old Hill Cmty. .

Lt John - secured title in 1700 to a dwelling house and seventy acres in the north part of Concord for 36 pounds. He was constable in 1699 and 1700, erected a pound house in 1706, was on the committee to present plans for the new meeting-house in 1711 (with John Hunt and Samuel Chandler).  
As a military man he was successively private, corporal, sergeant and liutenant. He is called Leuit. on his gravestone. During the trouble with Gov. ANDROSS, Lt. John Heald mustered the military company of Concord and started for Boston to assist in the expected revolt.  
John and Mary's graves are near the top of the hill in the Old Hill Cmty in Concord. (Sources: - 1)
