He was a Lieutenant in Captain Fox Company Colonel Klocks Regiment 2nd Tryon County Troops. His Commission was issued in 1778 and he served until 1783. He was in the Battle of Oriskany and his name is inscribed on the monument on that battle field. A descendant of his, David Loucks, of Little Falls, NY, RFD #1, has the sword he carried in that battle.
