Andrew Porter Pickle was a son of David Jones Pickle & Mary Porter. He was born on Wythe County, VA 4/1/1833 and died in Leander, TX on 1/7/1909.

Andrew grew up in Wythe County, VA and moved to Knoxville, TN where he worked as a carpenter. In 1854, he moved to Texas where he was employed as a carpenter building the old State Capitol building, that eventually burned down.

Andrew was the husband of Isabella Faubion (1845-1891). They married in 1862. They raised a large family of 13 living children.

Burial is in the Bagdad Cemetery, Leander, TX.
