Died on 22 January 1865 at age 43, from his wounds.
Fought in the Gwalior Campaign between 1843 and 1844.
Fought in the Indian Mutiny in 1857.
District Commissioner of Peshawar.
Gained the rank of Major in the Bengal Staff Corps.
On 15 January 1865 he was attacked and stabbed in the back.
