LIEUTENANT COLONEL SIR JOHN WALKINSHAW OF BARROWFIELD
He was taken prisoner at Sherrifmuir and confined in Stirling castle. However, he ecaped with aid of his wife, who let him down from a window on a rope made of blankets and sheets fastened together. He joined James VIII at Bar le Due. In 1719 he succeeded in effecting the escape from Innsbruck of the Princess Clementina Marie Casimia Sobieski on her way to marry James VIII in Bologna Clan MacFarlane and associated clans genealogy
