About Lieutenantt Zachary Damon
Zachary's mother died when he was one year old. He grew up in Scituate. He was made Lieutenant and served in King Phillips War. When the war ended in 1676, half the men in Scituate were dead and scalped. Zachariah and his brother John received grants of land for their war services and settled in Scituate next to each other. It is told that during Indian troubles a cow was stabled in the back of the house for safety.
