Mrs. Lillian M. Henkes, 73, of 221 South Lowell Street, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital after a short illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Donohue Mortuary with the Rev. Edward K. Heininger officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday after 10 a.m.
Mrs. Henkes was born Oct. 9, 1897, at Adair, daughter of John J. and Minerva Gull Lehman. She was married to Saward Henkes. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in social administration, and was a member of the Congregational - United Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Miss. Sylvia Stromgren of Chicago; a son, Carl Stromgren of Stockholm, Sweden; two brothers, Lawrence of Adair and Arthur of Iowa City, and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy McCullagh of Neenah, Wis., Mrs. Margaret Kroll of Iowa City and Mrs. Edith Longstreth of North Platte, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
