United States Supreme Court Case: Walter Gobitas, a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, instructed his children, Lillian and Walter, not to pledge allegiance to the United States flag when at school. This eventually led to the famous 1940 United States Supreme Court case Minersville School District v. Gobitis.
