'n Fyn intellektuele vrou, wat besonder goed kon klavier speel, selfs tot op ouderdom 90. (Een van haar gunstelingstukke was Liszt se Hongaarse Rapsodie nr.2). Sy was ook 'n goeie skaakspeler. Sy kon nie met geld werk nie, en het gedurig van haar man se klere uitgedeel aan behoeftiges! Sy het op haar oudag aangesluit by die 7de dag Adventiste. Is as gevolg daarvan uit die sysaal van die N.G. Moederkerk in Stellenbosch begrawe. Haar klavier het by haar kleindogter Marie Meiring gestaan tot met haar dood in 1999. Die klavier staan nou by Renee Cheary haar agter kleindogter.
