[From Nancy High] The father, Arieh Loeb Lion apparently had a first wife before Bella/Sibille, who has not yet been identified, but who is mother of most of the children. Arieh Lion didn’t marry Bella until about 1713 – she was widowed from Levi Flesch of Amsterdam whom she had married there in 1706 (Trouwen in Mokum #705-303). Pascal Faustini z”l is the one who helped so much with this, indicating on p.399 of La Communaute Juive de Metz that he only knows of one child of Arieh Lion by Bella/Sibille: Marie. However, if the 1710 date he shows for Marie’s marriage is correct, then she should not even have been by Sibille’s marriage to Levi Flesch. In the hope that the date is a mistake, I pulled out the Moselle marriages, and guess what I found: It gives a marriage date of 20 May 1734 and says that the document is in Hebrew and must have been filed with the notary very late, because the date seems to say 12 June 1710. Well, we can’t prove anything, but what fits perfectly is that the 1710 date is Marie’s birth and the marriage actually DID occur in 1734. We may never know, but, at least this gives some hope. Otherwise what is implied is that Sibille might not be the mother of any if Arieh Lion’s children.

Gompers?
né en 1670 selon Sean McCleary? impossible s'il est le père d'Hannah, née en 1680... la date de 1654 semble plus vraisemblable, sachant que le mariage a eu lieu en 1679!

Arjeh Loeb Gomperz Amsterdam († 17. Januar 1738, bestattet in Muiderberg), auch Lion Arieleib Salomon Shlomo-Zalman Gompert Emmerich genannt[9]. Ein Teil ihrer Nachkommen blieb in Holland, dort finden sich in den Kirchenbüchern auch Eintragungen von Familienmitgliedern, welche in Amsterdam heirateten, dann in England lebten: Barend Ber Lion Leib Gompert Emmerich († 1738), heiratete 1718 in Amsterdam. Er war der Sohn von Lion Arieleib Salomon Shlomo-Zalman Gompert Emmerich.[10] Phillip heiratet Sim(me)le Tsimle Benedictus Bendit Gompert Kleef, (* 1735 in Kleef), Witwe des Juda Isaac Arrentheuber[11]. Oder: Gittele († 1761, bestattet auf dem Friedhof Muiderberg). Gittele's Mutter war Sara Gompert und ihre Großmutter Vrouwtje Gompert.
