Lucy was a GRANDdaughter of William III de Braose and Mathilde de Saint-Valery, but her parents are unknown according to Cawley:

LEUCA (-before 28 Aug 1236). King Henry III granted "to Lucy wife of the late Godfrey de Kanville of all the land in Ireland which William de Breouse her late grandfather gave with her in marriage to Godfrey and which the latter held when he died" by charter dated 20 Sep 1219[1233]. King Henry III ordered that "Leuca who was the wife of Geoffrey de Caunville [have] her marriage portion out of the land of her late husband in that country", adding that he had purchased it from "William de Abbetot nephew of Philip de Wigorn…10 or 12 years before he married Leuca", by charter dated to [1219/20][1234]. It is assumed that she died before 28 Aug 1236 when Henry III King of England restored to "William de Canville son and heir of Geoffrey de Cannville the land of Fedemercum which Leuca mother of the said William held in dower of the gift of Geoffrey her husband"[1235]. m GEOFFREY de Canville, son of --- (-before 20 Sep 1219).

Cawley didn't look across the Welsh border. Rhys ap Gruffydd of Deheubarth secured a daughter of William de Braose and Maud St Valery (probably named Maud, although "Susan" is sometimes cited) for his eldest legitimate son Gruffydd ap Rhys. Among Gruffydd and Maud's children, a daughter Lleucu (or possibly two by that name) is often cited, and she married Geoffrey de Camville "of Llansteffan", probably while he was stationed there on the King's business. They had a son William, and then Geoffrey died.

Lleucu, or maybe the other Lleucu, married Cadwgan ap Madog and had (more) children.
