Lloyd Edgar Eisler, MSM (born on April 28, 1963) is a former Canadian pair skater. With partner Isabelle Brasseur, he is the 1992 and 1994 Olympic bronze medalist and the 1993 World Champion.

Career

Eisler first competed with Lorri Baier. He then teamed up with Katherina Matousek and competed with her at the 1984 Winter Olympics, in which they finished in eighth place. He partnered with Isabelle Brasseur in 1987. They won five Canadian pairs championships, the 1993 World Championships, and they won bronze medals at the 1992 Winter Olympics and the 1994 Winter Olympics. They retired from eligible competition in 1994 and then skated in shows until 2004. They are members of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame.

Brasseur and Eisler teamed up with Lou-Anne Brosseau (Hunt) in 1992 and formed a company known as B.B.E. Productions Inc., and together the group planned and organized professional figure skating events across Canada. Their main goal was to raise awareness and funds for the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada who named this duo National Spokespersons in September 1992. B.B.E. Productions Inc. has won several awards, producing more than 25 shows and raising more than $250,000.00 in awareness and sponsorship for the charity. In the years of operation (1992–2003), B.B.E. also granted several wishes to children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

In 1994, he and Isabelle Brasseur were awarded the Meritorious Service Decoration (civil division). The pair co-wrote Brasseur & Eisler: To Catch a Dream in 1996, as well as the follow-up book Brasseur & Eisler: The Professional Years.

In 2004, Eisler was involved in starting the Skaters High Achievement Readiness Program at the West Kingston Skating Club in Kingston, Ontario; he resigned as director in January 2006.

Effective October 6, 2006, Eisler was suspended from coaching in Canada for a term of one year by Skate Canada after allegedly sending sexually suggestive e-mails to his 15-year-old student. At the time of the ban, Eisler was coaching in California, where the Canadian ban did not apply. He did not appeal the ban. No criminal charges were ever filed.

Eisler is director of skating operations at the L.A. Kings Valley Ice Center in Panorama City, Los Angeles.

Personal life

Eisler was born in Seaforth, Ontario, Canada. Eisler has two sons, Ethan (born May 19, 2004) and Seth (born December 13, 2005), from his marriage to Marcia O'Brien Eisler. He appeared in the 2006 FOX television program Skating with Celebrities in which he was partnered with actress Kristy Swanson.

Eisler began a relationship with Swanson during the show's run, while Eisler was still married to his then-pregnant wife, Marcia. On February 16, 2007, Swanson gave birth to Eisler's son Magnus Hart Swanson Eisler just one month after Lloyd's divorce from Marcia O'Brien was finalized. They married on February 7, 2009 in San Luis Obispo.
