LLOYD CURTIS FERIS
A celebration of life ceremony was on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at the Woodland Presbyterian Church in Woodland, Washington for Lloyd Curtis Feris, who died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, in a Longview hospice care center in Longview, Washington. He was 83.
Mr. Feris was born October 27, 1919, in Twin Falls, Idaho. He moved to Woodland, Washington in 1936 and graduated from Woodland High School in 1940.
He served in the Navy, was a logger and did road construction work. Mr. Feris retired from Ben Thomas Logging in Woodland, Washington after 30 years. He was also a volunteer firefighter for 25 years in Woodland and served as chief for a time.
He is remembered as a handyman who was very skilled in fixing things. Mr. Feris enjoyed golf and was a member of the Kelso-Longview Elks Lodge in the Kelso and Longview, Washington.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carol; a daughter, Patricia Feris of Chico, Calif.; two sons, Michael of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Dale of Vancouver, Washington; and two grandchildren.

Lloyd C. Feris
Longtime Woodland resident Lloyd Curtis Feris, died the day after his 83rd birthday, October 28, 2002, at the Hospice Care Center in Longview, Washington.
He was born October 27, 1919, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Edgar and Belva (Clark) Feris. He moved to Woodland, Washington in 1936 and graduated from Woodland High School in 1940.
Mr. Feris served in the Navy and worked as a logger for Ben Thomas Logging in Woodland, Washington, retiring after 30 years of service. He also performed road construction work. Mr. Feris was a handy man and skilled at fixing most anything. He was a volunteer firefighter in Woodland, Washington for 25 years and served as chief for a time. He was a member of the Kelso-Longview Elks Lodge in Cowlitz County, Washington and enjoyed golfing.
He married Carol Simonis on June 29, 1941, in Woodland, Washington. She survives him at home. Also surviving are two sons, Michael Feris of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Dale Feris of Vancouver, Washington; a daughter, Patricia Feris of Chico, California; and two grandchildren.
A celebration of his life was held on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at Woodland Presbyterian Church in Woodland, Washington with pastor Jeffrey Wall officiating.
