Loekie van Nieuwenhuizen (1944 - 2003)
Brief overview:
Loekie (59), was stabbed in the stomach and chest, then ridden over with his own pick-up truck, on Wednesday 17th December 2003. The perpetrators escaped in his vehicle, which they abandoned 600m from the farmhouse. Only his cell phone was stolen. His wife, Christine and daughter, Christa-Marie, were at home alone when Loekie was attacked at the gate of the farm after he had laid off workers. Christa-Marie, who fired three shots in the direction of her father's attackers, apparently saw the three men outside.

- Two men, aged 19 and 22, were arrested within an hour of the incident. They apparently lived on a neighbouring farm. Capt. Police spokesman Sibongile Nkosi said they were being held for questioning and would likely appear in Secunda court on Monday.
