Lois Ann Thompson

OBITUARY : MRS. LOIS ANN (TOMS) THOMPSON, 79, of Deerfield Ave., Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017, in her home, surrounded by her family, following a five year battle with cancer.

Born December 6, 1937 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Russell and Alma L. (Shockey) Toms.

Mrs. Thompson graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1955.

She and her husband of nearly 60 years, Richard E. Thompson, were married on April 20, 1957 in the Camp Hill United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Thompson worked at Reeves Hoffman in the purchasing department and later at the United Methodist Children's Home.

She enjoyed preparing meals for her family, swimming, watching college football, trips to Myrtle Beach, SC, reading, and camping. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and her family was her pride and joy.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Richard Thompson, II and his wife, Terri and Olathe, KS and Beth Fetzner and her husband, Dave of Zions View, PA; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Susie Rook and her husband, Wib of Waynesboro and Joan Shadle of Waynesboro; and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 15, 2017, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Jon Uhlinger officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Wednesday morning, in the funeral home.
